Solar Credits is a mechanism that increases the number of STCs able to be created for
eligible installations of small-scale solar panel, wind, and hydro systems.
The following table illustrates the multiplier applied.

| 1 July 2012 – 31 December 2012 | 2 x (number of eligible STCs) |
| 1 January 2013 onwards | No multiplier applied |
Solar Credits apply to the first 1.5kW capacity of a small-scale generation system,
and certain eligibility criteria must be met.
